MIGRANTS' JOURNEY

2015 Gorizia, Italy

Hundreds of refugees find shelter in the woods alongside the river Isonzo in Gorizia, north-east of Italy. The area is known to the refugees as "the jungle". The majority of the people come from Pakistan or Afghanistan and reached Europe on foot and then by boat. They asked for asylum and are now waiting for the government response. These young men are all from Pakistan and are in their early twenties; they left their countries and families because they feared for their own lives. They met along the road to Europe and stuck together until now.
