GHOSTS

2012 to 2018, Mestre (Venezia), Italy

Working as a photojournalist sometimes means getting to know the worst and most miserable side of humanity. It makes you feel sad, angry, helpless, but sometimes you feel blessed if you compare yourself to others.

After many years documenting the suburbs of Venice, I decided to compile a collection of images that shows what it's like to be homeless and try to find a “home” in an abandoned building or in a waste field or under a bridge. Many are the reasons that bring people to live rough, but in this area, sadly, drugs are the first to blame.
